June 16, 2016 – Wright Days 2016!

It’s that time of year again!  Wright Days will take place on June 24th – 26th, 2016!   This is a special year for Wright as it is the 30th Class Reunion for Wright Jr. Sr. High’s very first graduation class, so we are expecting more people and more fun!    With the downturn of the economy, you may notice some of the events have been changed, but please remember Wright Days is coordinated by a Volunteer Committee and sponsored by several local organizations and businesses.  Take a moment to thank those sponsor and Committee Members.  Please enjoy Wright Days 2016!

July 11, 2015 – Ag Complex Ribbon Cutting

After years of discussions about the need for an indoor arena in Wright, it has finally became reality!   The Southern Campbell County Agriculture Complex officially opened on July 11, 2015 with an American Qualifier Calf Roping.  For those of you who do not follow rodeo, The American, is the world’s richest one-day rodeo.  Only 12 calf roping Qualifiers were held in the United States during the 2015 season and Wright was one of those.   Nearly 70 calf ropers competed for cash and a qualifications. A Women’s breakaway roping and Senior Calf Roping was also held bringing cowboys and cowgirls from across the region to Wright.   Competitors and spectators were wowed by the new facility and several said they were excited for Wright’s next big event.   Want to host an event at the Ag Complex?  Contact Operations Manager Max Davis at (307) 689-6587.
